ELECO concrete lamp posts
Early Lamp Posts
ELECO (The Engineering and Lighting Equipment Company) started in 1895 as The Gilbert Arc Lamp Company.
In London some of their early lamp posts in London still survive along the bank of the river thames in the borough of Westminster. It seems that unlike most councils, Westminster council does care about some of its real heratage. Although they do have a lot of replica victorian lamp posts, these are not bog standard DW Windsors, and are very genuine looking to trick you into thinking they are real.
1950s
In the 1950s Eleco made awesome looking swan neck lamp posts. Today it is very rare to find an un-modernized one.

Unusual 60s? Eleco with larger timer compartment. Sadly this one was modernized in 2010 with an ugly Phillips lamp (non LED version). It used to be a classic Eleco lantern. Also a local chav has realized that the lamp can be turned side to side.
