in harrods there are several modern lifts that are made to look old. and there is a set of genuin very old otis lifts.

with these lifts you chose what floor you want before you get in the lift. in the lift there is only open, close and alarm buttons.

Hallfield estate
This estate has several blocks of flats. Here are the different types. This information is correct on 22nd July 2009.
One lift type
Newbury, Brecon, Worcester, Clovelly and Taunton blocks have one P & Dunwoody lift in each. Bridgewater, Tenby and Lynton blocks are currently being replaced with a P & Dunwoody lift. I was told that these used to be Express lifts.

Pembroke and Reading blocks have two lifts, one odd, one even, in each.

1 - Platt schindler lifts
These lifts are very old and rare. The lifts have pop in buttons. When you press the button it stays in. When the lift goes up when it gets to a floor it checks to see wether the floor button is pushed in, if it is pushed in it will stop at the floor. If you push the button for a floor and the lift then starts going to that floor then you pull out the button (canceling the floor) the lift will keep going up not knowing what floor to stop at until it gets to the top floor where it has to stop anyway.
