Lille is home to the original VAL system. VAL is my faviourite automated metro system, it is completly automatic, and unlike other similar systems, there are no staff to be seen anywhere. It is the perfect metro, its design is simple yet it is so efficent. It is narrow gauge and has rubber wheels and goes 35 mph.

These are the original VAL trains. They have awesome DC PWM.

These make a weird sound when starting.
Trams
The trams have a good sounding VF drive exept it is very quiet.
